Pallet trucks, also known as pallet jacks, pallet pumps, pump trucks, scooters, dogs, or jiggers, are vital material handling tools used to transport pallets and compatible products. They are commonly used on loading docks, warehouses and industrial complexes to transport pallets and containers. Pallet trucks are convenient because they require little to no training to operate and utilize to their full potential.
For numerous applications, pallet styles and pallet sizes, Kleton offers a variety of pallet trucks in many different configurations and rated loading capacities. The importance of selecting the right pallet truck for a given application cannot be overstated.
Read our guide below to learn the dimension parameters of importance when choosing a pallet truck and the different styles of Kleton pallet trucks or view the specifications summary now.
Pallet trucks come in a wide range of sizes for various applications; the length and width are the most common parameters of a pallet truck. The length refers to the overall fork length of the pallet truck. The width of the pallet truck includes both the frame width (the distance from outside edges of each fork) and the fork width (the width of each individual fork).
These are important to know as not having a long enough fork for your given pallet can lead to unstable loading and may be dangerous for transporting pallets. Knowing the fork width can help you determine if the pallet forks will enter your pallets cleanly without clearance issues.
Each pallet truck has a corresponding capacity rating that dictates the maximum allowable load before the pallet truck is likely to be damaged or fail. Choosing the appropriate pallet truck with allowable capacity for your given application is crucial to avoid potential injury to the operator or permanent long-term damage to the pallet truck.
A pallet truck's lowered and raised heights denote the lowest possible position and maximum raised height of the pallet truck forks. The raised and lowered heights are measured from the floor to the top of the fork on the pallet truck at its lowest and highest positions.
You may evaluate the clearance needed to determine if the forks can raise or lower enough to lift a given pallet or container by using knowledge of the raised and lowered heights.
Kleton offers a wide variety of pallet trucks for many applications and environments. All pallet trucks are manual hydraulic pallet trucks and do not include electrical components.
